Understanding Suicide Bereavement: A Training for Mental Health Clinicians
(Formerly Suicide Bereavement Clinician Training)

Developed in collaboration with the American Association of Suicidology (AAS), the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), and John R. Jordan, PhD, this full-day training focuses on effective clinical support for individuals bereaved by suicide.

Suicide loss survivors often experience complex grief, trauma, stigma, and elevated risk for complicated grief and suicidality. This training provides a research-based overview of suicide bereavement and postvention, offering practical clinical approaches that go beyond traditional grief counseling. The workshop includes a didactic presentation, group discussion, and case examples to build clinician confidence and competence.
