GCBH VISTA Benefits

General Benefits for SC VISTA 2020-2021 Positions:

  • Modest Federal Living Allowance ($513.94 bi-weekly for VISTAs and $606.06 bi-weekly for VISTA Leaders)
  • Relocation  & Settling In Allowances (if applicable)
  • Eli Segal Education Award to be used toward student loans or further education ($6,195 upon completion of service) OR an end-of-service cash stipend ($1,800)
  • Health Allowance of up to $6,600 to cover out-of-pocket healthcare costs
  • Childcare Vouchers (if applicable)
  • Eligibility to Apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other assistance programs 

Additional Benefits for All GCBH VISTA Positions*:

  • Housing Stipend Payable to Landlord (a minimum of $600 for VISTAs and $3,000 for VISTA Leaders) annually- paid quarterly
  • Annual Membership to a Specific Recreational/Gym Facility
  • Approximately 50 hours of Active Listening and Crisis Intervention Training  
  • A Professional Mentor to provide support throughout service year
  • Mileage Reimbursement at the 2020 federal rate for service-related local travel
