DESCRIPTION:Bon Secours St. Francis Health System’s 8th Annual Human Trafficking Seminar\, titled “From Recognition to Response: Collaborating for Impact.” \n\n\n\nDate & Time: Friday\, August 21\, 2026\, at 8:00 AM \n\n\n\nLocation: Grace Church – Pelham\, Greenville\, SC \n\n\n\nThis seminar is free and open to the public. It will bring together advocates\, service providers\, law enforcement\, survivors\, and community members eager to deepen understanding and unite actions to combat trafficking. \n\n\n\nProgram Highlights & Speakers: \n\n\n\n\nAlan Wilson\, SC State Attorney GeneralAlan Wilson has served four terms as the SC State Attorney General\, focusing on keeping South Carolina’s families safe\, defending their freedom\, and protecting their futures.  His office has played an important role in helping to combat human trafficking within South Carolina and support survivors.  He will provide information about the state of human trafficking in South Carolina and our greater region\, and how his office has been working to address the plight of human trafficking. \n\n\n\n\n\nKeynote Speakers:\n\n\n\n\nDr. Francine Bono-Neri\, PhD\, RN\, APRN\, PNP\, FAAN \n\n\n\nA pediatric nurse practitioner\, trained sexual assault nurse examiner\, researcher\, and published author with over 32 years of clinical and academic experience\, Dr. Bono-Neri is the Co-founder and President of Nurses United Against Human Trafficking\, a global professional association dedicated to educating\, equipping\, and empowering healthcare professionals on anti-trafficking measures. In 2024\, she was recognized at the United Nations\, receiving both the Inspiring Global Nurse Award and the International Ceca Award for her advocacy work. \n\n\n\nDr. Doug Gilmer\, PhD \n\n\n\n35-year law enforcement veteran and retired senior military leader\, Dr. Gilmer most recently served as Senior Law Enforcement Advisor at the Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Countering Human Trafficking in Washington\, D.C. A researcher\, author\, and global consultant\, Dr. Gilmer has spent his career building the multidisciplinary collaborations that make victim identification and protection possible\, and in January 2025 Dr. Gilmer received the William Wilberforce Lifetime Achievement Award for his international anti-trafficking efforts. \n\n\n\n\nPanel DiscussionThere will be a panel discussion with local representatives in the fight against trafficking from the worlds of non-profit advocacy\, law enforcement\, healthcare\, and state government.
