National Suicide Prevention Lifeline & CRISISline

In crisis? Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or CRISISline at (864) 271-8888.

Text CRISISline to TEXTME (839863) or Click Here to Chat

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and CRISISline are 24-hour, 7-day a week confidential hotline, chat, and texting services offering a nonjudgmental sounding board for people to talk about life's struggles. Trained phone workers are available to offer a listening ear and to provide community resources and crisis intervention.

Certified by the American Association of Suicidology, the lines' crisis intervention specialists (including volunteers, AmeriCorps Members, and staff) are trained in active listening, brainstorming and information referral, and crisis intervention/suicide prevention.

An individual does not need to be in crisis in order to contact the National Lifeline or CRISISline. Intervention specialists can discuss therapist providers and/or other resources in the community.

Anyone. Any time. Any reason. -- The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, CRISISline, and TEENline are here.

In December 2019 and through a two-year capacity-building grant offered by Vibrant Emotional Health and in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, Mental Health America of Greenville County (MHAGC) began serving the entire state of South Carolina with National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

This funding is designed to enhance in-state answer rates of the selected states and will end in September 2021.
