Dear Friends,
As we begin 2026, I want to take a moment to speak directly from the heart and say thank you. Your generosity, encouragement, and belief in this work make an extraordinary difference—not just to our organization, but to the thousands of individuals and families who rely on connection, compassion, and care each day. Because of you, Mental Health America of Greenville County continues to grow stronger, more responsive, and deeply rooted in our community.

A Note from our Board President
Our Board President, Darin Thomas, recently reflected on the heart of our work and the power of showing up for one another. In a world filled with noise, stress, and uncertainty, reaching out—and having someone answer—can truly save lives. In 2025 alone, more than 22,000 individuals reached out to South Carolina’s 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Thanks to your support, those calls were answered with compassion, care, and human connection when it mattered most. His message reminds us of a truth we see every day: strength begins with connection.

Uplifting – Sharing the Gift that Became Operation Santa Claus 2025
That same spirit of connection was especially visible during the holiday season through Operation Santa Claus. With the generosity of our community partners and supporters, more than 400 holiday gift bags were delivered to individuals living with chronic mental illness. These gifts were more than items—they were reminders that people are seen, valued, and remembered. Operation Santa Claus continues to be a powerful example of what happens when a community comes together with compassion in action.

Strength Begins with Connection
Throughout the year, connection guided all of our work. From expanding the Reassurance Line and welcoming new residents into our housing programs, to providing steady support through our Representative Payee program and compassionate fellowship through our Survivors of Suicide Loss support group, we showed up for individuals and families in meaningful, lasting ways. We also invested in our team, strengthened partnerships, and celebrated important milestones—each one reinforcing that caring for people starts with caring for one another.

As we look ahead to 2026, I feel both grateful and hopeful. Grateful for your partnership and the trust you place in us, and hopeful for all that we will continue to build together. There are more conversations to have, more hands to hold, and more lives to support—and knowing you are part of this community makes that work possible.
Thank you for standing with us, for believing in the power of connection, and for helping ensure that help is always within reach. Together, we will continue to move forward—stronger, kinder, and more connected than ever.
With heartfelt thanks,
