Dear Friends,
As our year begins to wind down, many of us find ourselves reflecting on the challenges we’ve faced and the ways we’ve shown up for one another. It’s been a year of uncertainty and change, but also one of strength and compassion. At Mental Health America of Greenville County, we’re reminded daily that healing happens in community when we reach out, listen, and lift each other up.

Honoring the Heart of Care: National Family Caregiver Month
Caregivers are the quiet heroes among us — balancing work, family, and the emotional weight of caring for loved ones, often without recognition or rest. This National Family Caregivers Month, Mental Health America of Greenville County honors their strength and shares vital resources to help them find balance, support, and hope. Discover how MHAGC and local partners are working to care for the caregivers.

QPR: A Simple Step That Can Save A Life
When someone is struggling with thoughts of suicide, knowing what to say, or even how to start the conversation, can feel overwhelming. That’s where QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) comes in. Much like CPR for mental health, QPR teaches everyday people how to recognize warning signs, offer hope, and connect someone to help. As we approach International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, we’re reminded of how education and compassion can turn loss into action. Learn more about the value of QPR and how we at MHAGC offer this life-saving training free to the public.

Honoring Heritage, Strength, and Healing – Native American History Month
This November, Mental Health America of Greenville County also honors Native American Heritage Month by celebrating the strength and traditions of South Carolina’s Indigenous communities. Their deep connection to culture, storytelling, and the land reminds us that healing and wellness are rooted in shared understanding and support. Learn how these traditions continue to shape hope and where to find help through 988.
As we move toward the holidays and the promise of a new year, let’s continue to stand together: offering grace, compassion, and connection wherever it’s needed most. You can make a difference by volunteering with Operation Santa Claus, attending our support group or a QPR class, or making a financial gift to sustain this work. Your support helps ensure that every call is answered, every voice is heard, and every person in need finds hope when it matters most.
With Gratitude,
